What my colleagues say about working with me…

Jumping into a new team can be daunting, but Stacy does it with such confidence and grace. It’s a rare quality that I really admire. Her passion and expertise light up the room!”

“Stacy is a great collaborator, documenter, and communicator. We’ve only started working with her for a short amount of time and I’ve been very impressed so far!”

Managers Comments:

“Stacy has achieved extraordinary results far beyond stated expectations and made significant impact to her areas of responsibilities. She anticipated problems and implemented preventative measures when necessary. Stacy can be counted on to carry out assignments and faithfully commits to get the job done and consistently performs at or above expectations.”

Managers Comments:

“Stacy’s work on Adpedia took several discussions with Ad Designers to understand and develop a successful Adpedia tool. She helped build a useful tool for both the requester and the designer that really hit the mark. Our marketers and clients that use this tool had high praises for the ease of use and the improved turnaround times for ad requests. She anticipated contingency plans all while learning to work in an unknown system.”

Managers Comments:

“Stacy has accomplished tasks outside the scope of her role like graphic design, motion graphics, and video pre and post production.  She shows high growth potential to make exceptional contributions to the organization. As we implement new web technology, Stacy is one of the first to pick it up and understand it. She is excellent at absorbing the complexities of her job and working under pressure.”

Hi Stacy,

I wanted to thank you for your time on the team. I appreciated your thoroughness, attention to detail and provocative questions and ability to get s#!t done. I’m not going to say I’m not disappointed that you’ve chosen to leave, though I would never fault someone to want to try a new situation. I wish we had more of a chance to open some new opportunities for you at Pearson, but wish you the best in your new endeavour. I believe we are connected on LinkedIn and if you need anything, let me know.

Cheers, Rob

Good morning Stacy. This certainly is a shock, but not a surprise. I am truly sad to see you go. You have been amazing to work with. Your attention to detail and ability to capture the big picture has always amazed me. It has been a pleasure working with you and bringing your designs to life. I have learnt a lot from you in terms of design and interactions.

Wishing you the very best in your future endeavors.

I haven’t worked much with this person yet, but they seem very cool. I can tell they deeply appreciate human-centered design within complex products and have an eye for design.”

Interacted with Stacy a few times during problem solving sessions and co-ordination meetings. She comes forward helping people by sharing her knowledge which I see being really great for the team.”

In my observations, Stacy is a real straight talker. I can count on her to jump in and get to the point, offering insightful counsel based on her deep and wide professional experience. It’s been great to have her participate in design reviews and problem solving sessions with fresh eyes and ears.”

Hello Stacy! I’m sad to hear your news but happy for you! Congratulations! It’s been great working with you as well. It was a pleasure to work with you and your passion for the user and a stellar user experience! You will be missed!

Thank you so much for sharing the news with me personally, I also appreciate all the kind words and great feedback I’ve had the chance to receive from you whenever our paths would cross in meetings/workshop sessions! I added a heart to your message not because you’re leaving, but because I am also grateful for the time we had the opportunity to work together! Thank you for taking the time to seek my thoughts and perspectives and also your willingness to always share your expertise and experiences with me.

Congratulations on your new role and adventure, Stacy! I wish you only the best.

Revolutionizing SaaS Experiences

My journey in design & research has allowed me to pioneer seamless interfaces and innovative solutions for Next-Generation products. The goal of SaaS UX design is to create products that are intuitive, efficient, and satisfying to use, ensuring users can achieve their objectives with minimal friction. Here are some key elements and considerations in SaaS UX design that I utilize as a specialist in user experience:

User-Centric Design

Prioritizing the user experience by understanding the needs, pain points, and workflows of the target audience. Regular user research and feedback loops are essential to refine the design and ensure it solves real problems.

Visual Appeal and Clarity

While functionality is key, the visual appeal cannot be neglected. An attractive design can enhance user engagement and satisfaction. Using clear visual hierarchies, adequate spacing, and attention-grabbing elements to guide and inform users.

Intuitive Navigation

Ensuring that the product interface is intuitive and easy to navigate is key to providing a well lit path for users. An organized structure that logically groups features and information helps users find what they need quickly and efficiently.

Scalability

Designing the product with scalability in mind. SaaS products often servs a multitude of end users and sometimes across many industries, meaning they have to evolve over time. Thought and decisions need to be designed to be flexible enough to accommodate new features and changes without compromising the user experience.

Accessibility

Safeguarding that the product is accessible to all users, including those with disabilities. This includes adhering to guidelines for contrast, keyboard navigability, screen reader compatibility, order of operations, and more.

Data Visualization:

Many SaaS applications deal with complex data. It’s important to present this data in an understandable and actionable way. Effective data visualization helps users quickly grasp the insights and make informed decisions.

Consistency

Maintaining consistency throughout the application is essential to reduce the learning curve and make the interface predictable. Using consistent elements like colors, fonts, components, and layouts to reinforce familiarity and brand identity.

Cross-Platform Consistency

Ensuring a seamless experience across all platforms and devices. With users accessing SaaS applications from various devices, it’s crucial to maintain functional and visual consistency.

Onboarding and Learning

Designig an effective onboarding process that educates users about the application’s functionality. By providing quick tutorials, tooltips, and guided tours is the design decisions that I inject to enhance user understanding and retention.

Stacy was a top-notch professional throughout the process and guided me through each phase, from initial requirements, creative briefs, and wire frames to final design and launch. She incorporated the aspects that I deemed most important to my website while offering her expertise to make suggestions that really set my website apart from the competition. Stacy is easy to work with, has expertise in her field, conveys a positive attitude, and completed the project much sooner than I expected. I highly recommend her company, Stacy Marie Design, to anyone looking for website creation or other digital design.”

“I went in the other day to my website to make a small content change and it was so easy thanks to your user’s guide.  Thanks again for all the time and effort you put into my website.  I believe business is better because of it.”

“Dear Stacy,
I am so pleased with the brand and all the work you have done- thank you so much for all your hard work! I am sure that all you have done will help Rainhorse tremendously- to keep bringing the horses to people who need them!

I would love for you to meet the Rainhorses and see our place. Its an open invite! Happy Holidays, and again, thanks for everything!”

“Stacy produced a video for us chronicling a customer fishing event. I conveyed my thoughts to her in a brief conversation and left her with a mix of photos and videos from the trip. What I got back was a professionally done video that captured the feel of the trip perfectly. I sent the video on to my customers who replied with words like awesome, incredible memorable.

The video was the perfect cap on a one of a kind trip and that helped cement the impression of our company in the minds of our customers.”

MY DESIGN PROCESS

This initial phase is all about research. It involves gathering insights about the users, the market, and any existing solutions. By examining user needs, behaviors, and challenges, I can begin to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement. This stage sets the foundation for implementing a user-centered design approach.

Building on the insights gathered, the Understand phase is where I delve deeper into analyzing the data. This involves creating user personas, defining user journeys, and mapping out pain points and touchpoints. The goal is to develop a thorough understanding of the users’ context, motivations, and goals, which guides the design strategy.

With a solid understanding of the user’s needs, the Ideate phase is where creativity comes into play. This is when I brainstorm a wide range of solutions, employing techniques like sketching, wireframing, and prototyping. This phase encourages thinking outside the box to generate innovative ideas that address the users’ challenges.

In the Present phase, I communicate my concepts and prototypes to stakeholders, clients, or team members. This involves storytelling and persuasive presentation skills to convey the value and rationale behind the proposed designs. Feedback received at this stage is crucial for refining the solutions.

Armed with feedback, the Refine phase focuses on iterating and improving the design. This may involve tweaking the user interface, enhancing usability, or adjusting features to better meet user needs. Continuous testing with users is key to ensuring the design is intuitive and effective.

The final phase is about bringing the refined design to life. This involves finalizing the design specifications, ensuring all elements are accurately implemented, and overseeing the launch. The Deliver phase also sets the stage for ongoing evaluation and future enhancements, as user experience is an iterative process.

What do I enjoy most about digital design?

The ability to create assets for a compelling design that evokes an emotional response is exciting. At the end of the day it is about the people. It is about delivering value to end users, and managing customer relationships in ways that benefit all involved, clients/users, stakeholders and the representing organization.
